Artrider Publishing

The modern poet’s self-publishing partner.

Bringing a poetry collection to life shouldn't mean wrestling with technical layout errors, cover bleeds, or confusing publishing dashboards. As a senior graphic designer with decades of print publishing experience, I’m here to bridge the gap between your creative vision and a beautifully published book.

Whether you want to publish on Amazon/Kindle or explore other platforms, I handle the technical complexities—from custom cover design and precise interior typography to KDP-ready formatting.

My Services

Give your poetry the respect it deserves – self-publish your own book. The cost is minimal – but the feeling you'll get from holding your own book is priceless!

Paperback and hardcover cover design and production

A cover isn't just a front-cover design. Print covers must account for the trim size, page count, paper choice, spine width, bleed, safe areas and barcode placement.

I design and produce the complete print-cover spread, including front, spine and back, to the specifications required by KDP.

Interior layout and typography

Authors often struggle with page size, margins, paragraph styles, line spacing, chapter openings, page numbering, running headers, widows and orphans, and consistent typography.

I will format your manuscript into a polished, print-ready interior PDF, with a separate reflowable ebook version where appropriate.

Rejected files and print-production errors corrections

Authors may encounter upload warnings or rejection because of incorrect dimensions, insufficient bleed, low-resolution images, font embedding, transparency, or text too close to a trim edge.

I preflight the interior and cover PDFs, check specifications, and correct technical problems before upload.

Books with complex layouts

Illustrated books, cookbooks, poetry, children's books, workbooks and nonfiction with tables, charts or photographs can be especially challenging.

I establish a consistent grid, image treatment, caption system, typography and page architecture that makes the content readable, visually coherent and professional.

Preparing separate print and ebook editions

A layout designed for a printed page usually isn't appropriate for a reflowable Kindle ebook. Fixed page breaks, headers, footers and carefully positioned text can behave differently across devices and font settings.

I prepare distinct print and ebook files, preserving appropriate chapter structure, images, navigation and formatting for each format.

Proofing and final quality control

A file can pass automated checks and still look wrong when printed. Covers may have awkward spine alignment, images may reproduce poorly, and page breaks can create unattractive blank spaces.

I review the digital preview and, when appropriate, create a physical proof copy before the author approves publication.
